Basket ball games have now become the only entertainment for teenagers and residents living in relatively calm north Mogadishu, despite violence and security challenges in the south. Ten teams of men, taking part in the competition, share the only stadium, which is hosting the games, since it started in Oct. 2008. The tournament organized by the Somali basketball federation has attracted many spectators in the city. Nearly 1500 fans go to the stadium every after noon to watch the games.
